Central Highlands Water (CHW) and the City of Ballarat have joined forces to launch a new Choose Tap water fountain at the newly upgraded Buninyong Pump Track. The new water fountain will provide easy access to quality drinking water, for the cycling community and many other recreational users in Buninyong.
This new amenity will encourage the local community to ‘bring your own bottle’ (BYOB) and Choose Tap water over bottled water, for health, cost and sustainability benefits. Our bodies are on average 70% water, with dehydration reducing the ability to concentrate by 13%, so maintaining sufficient levels of water is not only important for our health but can contribute to improving concentration and for the cyclists and their reaction time when on the track.
As a valued partner in advancing our region, the installation forms part of a long standing Choose Tap partnership between Central Highlands Water and the City of Ballarat spanning over 10 years, benefiting the ongoing hydration and health of the local community.
