Filter Changes Made Easy
In this guide, you’ll learn how to change the filter on your Elkay ezH2O bottle filling station. You’ll also learn how to reset the counter, and the filter light.
Before you begin:
- Make sure you have a new Elkay ezH2O water filter cartridge.
- Gather some tools: a screwdriver (for the lower cover) and a Torx screwdriver (for the top cover on older models).
Access the Filter:
- Locate the underside of your Elkay ezH2O bottle filling station. Remove the lower cover using the screwdriver by taking out the four screws.
Turn Off the Water and Relieve Pressure:
- Turn off the water supply valve that controls your Elkay ezH2O bottle filling station.
- Dispense water through either the bubbler or the bottle filler to release any pressure in the line.
Remove the Old Filter:
- Locate the used filter and turn it clockwise by a quarter turn. This will detach it from the filter head. Dispose of the old filter according to local regulations.
Install the New Filter:
- Remove the red cap from your new filter cartridge.
- Insert the new filter into the existing Elkay ezH2O filter head and turn it counterclockwise until it’s secure. Ensure the blue label on the front of the filter is facing you.
Turn on the Water and Flush the System:
- Turn the water supply valve back on.
- Run 8 litres of water through the filter. This purges air and any fine carbon particles from the new filter.
Resetting the Filter Light (New Models)
On newer Elkay ezH2O models, the filter status light will automatically reset once you’ve properly installed a new filter.
Resetting the Filter Counter (Older Models)
If you have an older Elkay ezH2O model, follow these steps to reset the filter counter manually:
Access the Control Panel:
- Use the Torx screwdriver to remove the two screws securing the top cover of the bottle filling station
Locate the Program Button:
- Once the top cover is off, find the “Program” button.
Reset the Filter Monitor:
- Hold down the “Program” button for about two seconds until the display changes.
- The display will show “RST FLTR” (Reset Filter Monitor) and “SETTINGS” (System Settings Sub Menu).
- When “RST FLTR” is displayed, press the button again. The screen will display “FLTR = “.
- Press the button once more, and the display will show “FLTR = 0”.
- A green LED light will illuminate, indicating a successful reset of the filter monitor.
Reassemble the Unit:
- Put the top cover back on and secure it with the two Torx screws.
- Replace the lower cover of the Elkay ezH2O cooler using the four screws you removed earlier.
Congratulations! You’ve successfully replaced the filter and reset the counter on your Elkay ezH2O bottle filling station. Enjoy your clean, filtered water!
